System Logs Collection

Collecting system logs is crucial for further investigation because logs provide a detailed record of system activities, events, and errors. These logs contain valuable information that aids in identifying the root cause of issues, troubleshooting problems, and understanding the sequence of events leading up to a particular situation.

Step 1. Open a browser and input http://{YOUR_SERVER_IP}:8090, you should see the Server Monitor login page.

Sign into Service Monitor with the default account credentials.

Step 2. Click the "Collect Server Logs" button to initiate server log retrieval.

Step 3. This action requires the provision of OS administrator credentials to initiate the log retrieval. Log collection needs a few minutes and DO NOT refresh the web page during this procedure.

Step 4. Click the button again when the green button transforms to "Download Server Logs." This action will initiate the download process.

Step 5. Deliver this compressed file to Advantech support for further troubleshooting and debugging purposes.
